Assessing Opportunities to Increase Yield and Profit in Rainfed Lowland Rice Systems in Indonesia

چکیده

In this study, we aimed to improve rice farmers’ productivity and profitability in rainfed lowlands through appropriate crop nutrient management by closing the yield gap during dry season of Indonesia. The Integrated Crop Management package, involving recommended practices (RP) from Indonesian Agency for Agricultural Research Development (IAARD), were compared current at ten farmer-participatory demonstration plots across provinces Indonesia 2019. (FP) usually involved using old varieties their remaining land following existing fertilizer methods. results indicate that improved best production, along with water reservoir infrastructure information access, contribute increasing farming. mean increased significantly RP FP 1.9 t ha−1 (ranges between 1.476 2.344 ha−1), net returns increased, after deducting cost fertilizers machinery used irrigation supplements, USD 656 266.1 867.9 ha−1) per cycle. This represents an exploitable 37%. Disaggregated wet climate western eastern Indonesia’s climate, 1.8 2.0 ha−1, additional return gain cycle 600 712 respectively. These suggest there is considerable potential increase production output lowland systems cropping intensity productivity. Here, lay out site-specific variety supplemental as ICM reducing income rainfed-prone areas.

Management of clay soils for rainfed lowland rice-based cropping systems: an overview

The problem of concern in this project is that in the dry season following a lowland rice (Oryza sativa L.) crop, yields of post-rice crops are generally low, despite adequate water commonly being available in the soil pro®le to grow a potentially high yielding dry season (DS) crop without irrigation. Maize (Zea mays L.) yields are as low as 1 Mg haÿ1 or less, soybean (Glycine max L. Merr.) and...

Integrated management to reduce rodent damage to lowland rice crops in Indonesia

Benefits and costs of an integrated management system coordinated at the community level to reduce rodent damage to lowland irrigated rice were measured in West Java, Indonesia, from 1999 to 2002. Four villages, each of 120 ha (70–80 families per village), were involved in the study, two being allocated as treatments and two as controls following a randomised block design. The emphasis was on i...
